Mechanized Portage

Mine Center, Ontario is on the Canadian Pacific Railroad but there is no connection with the outside by road.  At least there wasn’t any when my wife, our son and I made this portage.  But they have brought in the old truck by railroad and used it for hauling over the portage.  The Indians were on their way to the rice beds. Each one did his job swiftly, even the kids.  I only had time to scratch down a few sketches and notes before they were loaded up and gone.
