April Again

Old Charlie shouldn’t be living out here alone. His children, who are getting old themselves, worry about him. What if something should happen to him? Nobody would even know about it.
But Charlie won’t move out of his shack. He can still cut his own firewood. And he told me that he doesn’t like being bossed around by his daughter-in-law who shaves under her arms.
Now he has made it through another winter. The ground is showing through the snow. The ice is breaking up and a pair of geese have stopped in on their way north.
